Software Requirements

The follow are the software requirements to use the eCollege Learning Management System:

Minimum PC Software Requirements

  •   Windows 2000, NT, XP or VISTA
  •   Netscape Navigator 7.1 (or later), Microsoft Internet Explorer  6.0 (or later), or AOL 9.0 (or later)
  •   Word processing software, such as Word, Works or WordPerfect
  •   Email capability (AOL, Earthlink, Hotmail, Yahoo, or one of many others)
  •   Some type of virus protection like Symantec/Norton or McAfee
  •   Some type of personal firewall like Symantec/Norton or McAfee
  •   Some type of adware removal program like SpyBot Search and Destroy

Minimum Macintosh Software Requirements

  •   OS 9.1, or later
  •   Netscape Navigator 7.1, (or later), Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.2.2 (or later), or AOL 8.0 (or later).
  •   Word processing software such as Word or WordPerfect
  •   Email capability (AOL, Earthlink, Hotmail, Yahoo, or one of many others)
  •   MACs are less prone to viruses.

 

 

Useful Media Plug-ins

Listed here are common plug-ins that may be required for your online course. Many of these may be installed on your computer already. You can run the Browser Test found in the Technical Requirements section of eCollege to download needed Internet Browsers or plug-in software free.  For the most up-to-date versions of these programs, please click on the links below.  Remember, these options are free.  You do note need to buy this software.
